What is the Keto Diet?

What foods do I avoid on the Ketogenic Diet?

Keto is all about limiting empty calories. Some of the foods that are restricted are; juice, soda, grains, cereals, Fruits high in carbohydrates, and anything with added sugar.

Can I still drink alcohol on the Ketogenic Diet?

Of course! If the thought of a Ketogenic Diet scares you away due to the thought of no alcohol, breathe a sigh of relief. There are a few liquors that are Zero Carb and do not contain added sugars. The liquors are; Whiskey, Brandy, Cognac, Tequila, and Vodka. There are certain wine and beers as well, Just make sure they fall within your macros for the day.

Do we need carbs to maintain normal body function?

In short, No. A Ketogenic Diet does not restrict carbs entirely. The Keto Diet restricts carb intake to 20-50 grams per day.
